I do really enjoy reading about how families over the country spend their Christmas. Thank you to Living life Our Way for tagging me in this festive Q&A!
Here are my answers…
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
As a household we love a Christmas film. Last week we went to a special showing of Nightmare before Christmas which was awesome. The girls love the santa paws film and the boys love the more action based films. However overall I would say Nightmare before Christmas is always a winner!
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I remember as a child about a handful of times times through the Christmas break playing in the snow with friends. But I seem to remember about 2010 we had a smattering of snow.
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
A typical Christmas starts at home for us. The kids are up at the crack of dawn and presents are usually open by 10am. Then we head over to my parents house and have dinner. Then we head home. Sometimes we head to my aunts, if it’s dragging at my mums.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
Fairytale of Newyork
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
We do the children Christmas Eve boxes. They usually contain a new pair of pyjamas, a sweet, hot chocolate powder, and sometimes a DVD to watch as a family.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Yes! Dasher, dancer, Donna, blitzen, prancer, comet and Rudolph!
Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I really enjoy taking the kids to see santa. And obviously the food!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We have a fake tree. It was the first tree we ever bought together and can’t stand to part with it. Trish usually decorated it because she has obsessive Christmas tree ornament placement disorder!
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
I have two clear favourites, pigs in blankets and the little green triangles out of quality street.
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I very seldom get gifts (oh woe is me). So I would like to say recieveing them is a bit more special for me. But I do love seeing people’s reactions to gifts that I have got for them.
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
Probably the year the wife got me rockband for the Xbox and managed to keep it quiet! She wrapped it and the put the Christmas tree on it so I wouldn’t notice!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I would love to do a Christmas at Disney land, Paris or Florida, not fussed. But would like to do it soon ish!
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I am quite good at present wrapping. But if I’m honest the wife is better than me and usually does it all!
Most memorable Christmas moment?
When I was a child we used to have a whole family dinner up at my uncles house on Boxing Day. It was great. Miss the days the whole family would get together, it doesn’t happen any more.
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I am very hopeful that he still exists
What makes the holidays special for you?
Spending time with family. Not having to face the early mornings or the school run! Spending some good quality time with the wife also!
So, that’s my Christmas tag! And I’m tagging The Parenting Trials, Waffle Mama, Mind Your Mamma, Devon Mama, Thrifty Mum, Three Girls Mummy, Backs N Bumps, Paige’s Preferences & Bakes, Books and My Boys to take part too!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!
